Engineer Advisor

Alan has over 50 years’ experience in healthcare facilities management, specialising in maintenance engineering and project management, across the public and private health sectors.

Alan’s roles in the public sector have been vast and include Project Manager, Infrastructure Manager and Manager Facilities Engineering and Maintenance at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He was the Commissioning Engineer, seconded to the redevelopment team, for the redevelopment of St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, as well as the hospital representative for the Victorian Hospitals Cogeneration Project. While working with Spotless Services, Alan was the Transition Manager for the implementation of the outsourced facilities management model for Auckland Healthcare (approximately 1,800 beds), including Auckland and Greenlane Hospitals.

In 1999, Alan joined the Menette consulting group as the Engineering Operations Manager. During his tenure with Menette, Alan was integral to the development and implementation of the facilities management strategy across the 48 Affinity Health hospitals, Australia-wide. Alan was the senior advisor on the public-private partnership (PPP) bid for the Royal Women’s Hospital (Melbourne), as well as the Royal Children’s Hospital (Melbourne) and Royal North Shore Hospital (Sydney). He was also heavily involved with the facilities management across the Calvary Health Care hospitals and St John of God Health Care hospitals.

Alan joined Epworth HealthCare in 2010, where he spent more than 12 years as the Project Director for the Epworth Richmond redevelopment project. In 2016, he was responsible for the Epworth Eastern redevelopment project in Box Hill.
